Caregivers find themselves in situations and wonder how they arrived at such a place.  Caregivers fall into ruts.  Caregivers become stubborn and set in their ways; resistance is part of life.  Challenges occur when caregivers become responsible for a loved one and feel options are limited.

Caregiving is a time in life when flexibility and understanding of other prespectives is important if you want to have a successful outcome and a successful long term caregiving relationship.  If there are areas of disagreement in caregiving situations, ask for other perspectives and be open to changing they way you think.  Ask others to be open to hearing your perspective and be flexible in their thinking or habits.  Successful caregiving begins with good communication and good communication takes time and effort.
