Again as I continually mention, the better educated consumers can become about insurance and the different types, the better decisions you can make. Another certification that I completed in December of 2007 is called a Certified Senior Advisor. This is an educational certification for those individuals working in the aging industry. It provides a very broad background in all aspects related to aging including not only Medicare, Medicaid, and long term care insurance but also reverse mortgages, financial planning, home and community based services, home care, facility care, relocation and moving etc. Although many who obtain this certification are specialized, the education provided at least gives the individuals some background information on other topics that may affect their clients.
