Did you ever notice how our lives shift? When we’re young our focus is on friends and activities. In middle age our focus shifts to career, marriage and for some to raising children. In retirement we leave careers or become empty nesters life and shifts again. The shifts are subtle but some find themselves alone throughout life or after retirement. This shift points to the importance of maintaining relationships throughout life, avoiding the stress of feeling alone. Maintaining relationships takes work.
