If you have insurance, you likely have a monthly premium that you pay. It’s a good idea to automate this payment to avoid a lapse of insurance. I’m currently working with two clients, one individual missed a Medicare payment and another missed a long term care insurance payment. Both received notices of lapse but due to short term memory loss and a lack of ability to organize, neither took action when the notice arrived. I am in the process of applying to reinstate the insurance but not without many hurdles. Save yourself from a possible insurance lapse, set your payments up on automatic withdrawal. You’ll be glad you did.
